Mustard
is one of the oldest culinary and medicinal spices.
All mustards whether black, brown, white or yellow,
are members of the cabbage family. All are bitter,
hot and aromatic but vary in degrees of flavor.
Yellow mustard seed is the traditional
type sold in grocery stores and is mainly used for
pickling, canning and sausage making. Mustard seeds
can also be sprouted added to sandwiches or salads.
