Chinese five spice
powder is a blend of herbs and spices used
in many traditional Chinese and Asian dishes. Sprinkle
five spice powder onto meats and chicken before
roasting. It is a good seasoning for marinades.
If you can not find it, you can make
your own by combining equal parts of ground Szechwan
or black pepper, ground star anise (or anise), ground
cinnamon, ground cloves, and ground fennel.
