Roasted Turnips
A lower calorie and lower carb option to potatoes.

Servings: 4

• 1 tablespoon brown sugar (may also use sugar substitute)
• 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
• 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
• 1 dash ground allspice
• 3 turnips, peeled and each cut into 6 wedges (6 ounces each)
• Cooking oil spray

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Combine first 7 ingredients in a shallow roasting pan coated with cooking spray, toss to coat.

Bake at 400 degrees for 35 minutes or until tender, stirring every 10 minutes.
